Ok, so finally... I was down 3.5 pounds this morning! YEE-FREAKIN-HAW! After two weeks of not moving and getting so frustrated, I saw Dr. Kris this week and in two days was down 3.5. I even went to Inca the other night for Kyson's bday and had steak fajitas on a plate of lettuce, minus the sour cream, guacamole, tortillas, chips and salsa.... But it was still sooooo good! I blogged my whole Dr. Kris appointment on my other blog, but it was such a cool appointment. I felt 5 pounds lighter just leaving his office. So I am at 206.6 today! Oh yea, Jacob was at 209!!! You know what that means.... I finally weigh less than him. That has been a huge benchmark for me trying to reach! (I'm so glad he doesn't weigh 160 or something...:)) I feel like I am on the right track again. Sorry for the pissy posts lately. I was in a serious funk, and I'm so glad to be out of it again.
I only have one day of the hCG left.... I think I am going to take a break for a couple of weeks and see what happens. I have been fighting being hungry lately, which I've read means your body is becoming immune to it. So I think I'll go off for a few weeks, and then maybe get a good jump start when I pick it back up. I am hoping I'll keep losing while I am off of it, but I am really nervous at the same time. I guess we'll see. How is everyone else doing? Nobody is posting much.

Stacey's Slow Progress
To answer Annette's question about if I'm loosing weight again.
Yes, very slowly though.
I sat at 217 for a week and then the build for my period and some poor food choices around Halloween put me up to 219 for a week. (YUCK) But last week I finally started loosing again. Last week I lost 3 lbs, and was at 216 and then this week 2 lbs, and am at 214 now.
So hopefully I can keep up the 2 pounds a week at a minimum.

What is the deal! (Annette)
Ok, so I have still been the same, for two weeks. Do you think its still working? I felt good after leaving the office the other day, but if I actually go back and look at the numbers... over the last month, I am only down like 8 pounds I think. The first two weeks, I think I was down like 15, and then since then its only a couple of pounds a week. (I'm dieing to know how your dad's doing, Stace... what does he think of it?) My mom is going to start this week also. When we left the appointment the other day, I was thinking I'd just keep doing it and not take any time off and it would all balance out, but two weeks? And I still haven't done a "free day". I think I've decided it would cost too much. I can't give up a few pounds yet. I wonder if there is something to the shake and oil thing... because really that almost doubles the calorie count. What do you guys think of that? Although it worked in the beginning... I don't know...
All of the stuff Stace said sounded about right. I've been splitting up the shakes and doing them before bed and first thing in the morning... but NOTHING! I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks for posting Stacey! Try not to get discouraged, 10 lbs is a really good loss. You have been under a lot of stress lately and our bodies tend to shut down fat burning during stress. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Did you buy the ketostix so you can test yourself daily? I got mine at Walmart at the pharmacy counter.
Ok, so i have been posting on two different hcg boards and found out that 2T of MCG oil adds 239 calories to our day! Dr. Simeon is very clear in saying that we can't go over 500 a day. Also, how many calories are in those shakes that they sell? The original protocol provides the 500 calories so if you are adding in oil and shakes, you could be slowing your loss or even causing yourself to plateau. Something to think about. Sonja seems to metabolize food differently (lucky her!) so that eating food off the protocol doesn't seem to affect her adversely. I know that the steak I ate had too much fat in it and caused me to stall for a day. :( I went back to chicken yesterday and lost .6 today.
Stacey, that was smart to prepare several meals at once. There is nothing worse than being hungry and having to prepare something.
Here is a good recipe that makes protein on hand for a few days:
5-6 chicken breasts in crockpot
1 can diced tomatoes( I use the ones with green chilis, but you have to read the label because some of them add high fructose corn syrup and you don't want that)
1 pkg taco seasoning dumped on top of tomatoes
cook on low for 8-10 or high 5-7 hours. I then skim off any solid fats and try to remove some of the liquid too. Once you have removed some of the liquid, take a couple of forks and shred the meat. It ends up being like the chicken you get in enchiladas at mexican restaurants! I put mine in a lettuce wrap or just on salad.

Stacey's body comp appointment
So Annette and I went in to have our body comp redone yesterday. (Missed you Son, wish you could have made it with us) With my cheat days and the week I was off because of Hailey's accident I've only been doing this seriously for about 4 1/2 weeks. So I tried to not be to upset about my results compared to Annette's.
Annette was first to weigh and she had lost like 24 lbs. Then it was my turn. A whole 10lb:( Then Annette's up for her body comp and after her thing is printed out the lady hands it to Annette to look over. Exciting news, her fat numbers went down and muscle numbers went up and she changed her overall # by a few %. Yeah Annette!
Then its my turn, my print out comes out and she sets it on the desk and proceeds to start taking Annette's measurements. So I go to pick up my paper and review it and the lady says oh, don't look at that I want to go over it with you in a minute. (That can't be good) Anyways, she looks at it with me later and pretty much I haven't been in Ketosis at all. My muscle has gone down and fat up. Can anyone say crappy.
For measurements I think Annette's were like 14-15 overall inches lost and mine were 5 1/2. (Annette will have to verify if her info is correct???)
The lady said I need to get into ketosis. She wants me off all fruit and have a little more meat instead (130 grams instead of 100) She thinks that my body is reacting to the sugar in a bad way so I guess it's nothing sweet for me. She also wants me to break up the shakes more. 1 scoop for breakfast, 1/2 morning snack,1/2 afternoon snack, 1/2 right before bed. I think she is trying to keep the blood sugar levels from spiking. Which she said should help with the cravings.
I'm always craving sugar (Fruit, Tomatoes!!!, or candy) Hopefully this will help.
So all in all a pretty disappointing appointment for me but I'm still sticking with it. I borrowed Annette's cook book and made 4 of the dishes in it times 4 servings then divided them into containers and froze my 16 meals. It has been a super easy way to eat something when I'm on the go.
Sonja how have you been doing? How much have you lost so far? Did your friend from Seattle end up sticking with it? What were you thinking for a competition?

So how did the check up go for the three of you? How was the inch loss? I keep reading that if you aren't losing pounds that you are probably losing inches. I went back and read all the posts from the three of you and it seems like you are all doing well.
I have to tell you that yesterday was the hardest so far! I just wanted to eat some cheese. That is a very strange craving for me. Usually I crave icecream, not cheese. I had steak the night before and didn't lose any yesterday then I went and had the rest of the steak for lunch yesterday. It tasted really good, but I got the worst stomach ache. Have any of you had stomach problems since starting this?
Well, I got on the scale this morning and I am down .2lbs. I am going to stay positive and say that is better than gaining, but I would really like to see at least 1lb gone. I am going to switch back to chicken today.
I have decided to follow the original protocol and take a break after 40 shots. That means that I have 39 more days of vlcd!! After that 3 weeks of no sugar or starch, then 3 weeks of adding them back slowly. When the second 3 weeks is done I will have 2 load days and begin the 40 day process again. I just hope that I can survive the bland food until then.
Have any of you found a good dressing for your salad? If you have, please let me know!

Annette
Hey Sun, you made me laugh at your, "hello! Is anyone out there? Are we still blogging?" Really, I feel like I'm the only one blogging, and I don't really have anything super helpful to say. I am up for a competition. I have been seriously sucking! I am doing the apple day today. I have been the same for 6 days. I was down to 210 on Friday, yea! Then Friday I ate 3 pieces of Halloween candy (OK they were good pieces, like Butterfinger and PB Cups) and I put some Teriaki Chicken on my salad instead of regular chicken, but thats it! And I was up 1.5 pounds on Sat. morning, and have not been able to get back down to 210. I am getting so frusterated. It sucks staying the same. I did perfect yesterday and Sunday, and I even did some tea during the day, and thought for sure I'd be back down this morning. Nope! Same-o! So, what is your guys' take on the whole break thing? I don't want to go off and gain any, and I really want to be done by the end of the year. However, what if your body does need a break. I just don't know. I don't think the people at the clinic here really know what they are talking about. I am looking forward to going in tomorrow and seeing what she has to say. I REAAAAAAALLY want a pound a day! So Sun and Stace... Hows it going? Give me something to read about!!!!
